American Krawlers is a Documovie, filmed and produced by Crawl 5280, in partnership with Outlaw Offroad. Filming will take place from late 2020, though the American Krawler event in Colorado (August 2021), as well as "after action" interviews and follow ups with participants, after the event.
American Krawlers, the event, will take place in Colorado, between August 1st - August 6th, 2021. During the event, Crawl 5280 will be filming for the movie. Participants may also be filmed for interviews, including the lead up the the event, as well as after event follow ups. The event will have a "Challenge Section", which will consist of wheeling some of the best, and most technical, trails Colorado has to offer. The "Epic Section" will consist of trails in and around Telluride and Ouray, CO. This area possesses some of the most breathtaking and iconic views found anywhere in the world. While some of the wheeling will be a bit challenging, the idea of the Epic Section will be to capture the nature aspect of the offroad experience and the places we are able to experience, as a result of the offroad world.
The Challenge Section will consist of the first 3 days of wheeling on highly challenging and technical trails. These trails include Holy Cross, Chinaman Gulch, Wheeler Lake and an option to complete Carnage Canyon. These trails will challenge all rigs and drivers and are designed to push you to accomplish things you may have never thought possible.
The Epic Section will consist of the final 3 days of wheeling in and around Ouray, CO. We will be filming on such iconic trails as Imogene Pass, Engineer Pass, Black Bear Pass and the Alpine Loop, to name a few. These trails offer views and experience found nowhere else in the world and will provide a once in a lifetime experience you will not soon forget. The final night will be a group dinner and award ceremony, hosted by Outlaw Offroad.
Space will be very limited and rigs/drivers will have to complete an application process. Know that if you are selected, you are in rare company and will be privy to an amazing event that will stretch the limits of both you and your Jeep, as well as your mind's ability to process shear beauty and epic mountain vistas.
If selected, you will be responsible for the entry fee of $1250. This includes entry for one Jeep, one driver and 2 dinners, to be provided by sponsors. You will receive spotting, coaching, support and recovery assistance, if needed. Should you choose to bring another adult with you, an additional $250 will be charged. Given the nature of this event, we do not recommend children be brought on this trip.
Simple. Apply, pay, show up, LISTEN... and do try to look good for the camera. Although, that may be harder for some of us than others. Seriously, though, you are expected to bring a rig in sufficient condition for the trails you will be on. You are also responsible for bringing your own recovery equipment, spill kit, fire extinguisher, medical/emergency equipment and any other item(s) required to complete multiple, difficult trail days. If you break, we will help, as help is available, but you should be prepared to fix your rig if you break it.
